Peer Sessions | Visual Art Network

Peer assessment or peer review provides a structured learning process for young adults to critique and provide feedback to each other on their finished pieces or work in progress.
These new monthly meets, hosted by CatStrand Creative Arts professionals, will provide a structured session for young adults aged 16 – 25 years who have their own visual art practice to network with other young artists and to feedback on each other’s work. The sessions aim to develop lifelong skills in assessing and providing feedback to others, and will also equip you with the skills to self-assess and improve your own work.
We are looking for a minimum of 5 young adults (from any visual art discipline) to participate in this pilot network group.
Participants will commit to bringing 1 or 2 pieces of work (finished or work in progress) to offer up to the group for critique each month.
As well as the regular peer review sessions, the group will be given the opportunity to stage and promote their own exhibition at the CatStrand, and receive mentoring for their own art practice from other professional artists.
This is a Holywood Trust funded project and is free to all young people living in the Dumfries and Galloway region.
To apply, please email catherine@catstrand.com about why you would like to be involved in the network as well as a description and some images of your work by the 30th September
