Join the CatStrand Creatives team as a Youth Music Intern and help deliver exciting workshops, performances and creative projects through DG AMPLIFY and Young Music Makers.
14 hours per week
£13.45 per hour

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Costume Maker
Are you aged 18-30 and interested in sewing, costume design, fashion, textiles or theatre?
CatStrand Creatives is looking for a Volunteer Costume Designer/Maker to join our 2026 Youth Panto Production Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience working alongside our Wardrobe Manager and learn what it's like to be part of a real theatre production.
You'll have the opportunity to:
Design and create a costume piece for the production
Help with sewing, alterations and costume-making skills
Help organise and prepare costumes for cast members
Gain backstage experience during performances
Work as part of a friendly creative team
Build confidence, practical skills and experience for your CV or portfolio
Placement Period: September – December 2026
Location: CatStrand, New Galloway
Expenses Covered: CatStrand Creatives is committed to making volunteering accessible to all young people. Reasonable agreed expenses, including travel costs, will be reimbursed in line with our volunteer expenses policy.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Young Set Design & Props Assistant
Are you aged 16–30 and interested in theatre, art, design, model making, construction, painting or making things?
CatStrand Creatives is looking for a Volunteer Young Set Design & Props Assistant to join our 2026 Youth Panto Production Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience working alongside our Set Designer and Production Team, helping to plan, create and bring the world of the panto to life.
You'll have the opportunity to:
Assist the Set Designer with planning and developing ideas for the production
Help design, build and paint props for the panto
Learn creative construction and scenic painting techniques
Source and create small set pieces and stage dressing
Support set installation and preparation for performances
Gain backstage experience during the production run
Work as part of a friendly and supportive creative team
Build confidence, practical skills and experience for your CV or portfolio
No previous experience is required - just creativity, enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in.
Placement Period: September – December 2026
